These terms govern your use of the KLD Intellectual Property Application Tracking System (KLD-IPATS). By creating an account or submitting an application, you agree to them.
1Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using KLD-IPATS, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the system.
2Eligibility & Accounts
KLD-IPATS is intended for use by currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff of Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas submitting intellectual property arising from their academic or institutional work. You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information when creating your account
- Keeping your login credentials confidential
- All activity that occurs under your account
3Using KLD-IPATS
You agree to use the system only for its intended purpose — submitting, tracking, and managing legitimate intellectual property applications — and not to:
- Attempt to access another user's account or another applicant's application data
- Interfere with or disrupt the system's normal operation
- Upload files containing malicious code
4Your Submission & Warranties
When you submit an application, you confirm that:
- The work is your own, or you are authorized by all listed co-authors to submit it on their behalf
- The information you provide — including author details, descriptions, and the AI Permissibility Tier you declare — is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge
- Your AI use declaration honestly reflects how the work was produced, as described in our Guidelines
A submission found to misrepresent AI use, authorship, or originality may be rejected, and repeated or serious misrepresentation may be referred to the appropriate academic office.
5Intellectual Property Ownership
KLD-IPATS is a tracking and screening system — submitting an application through it does not, by itself, transfer, assign, or waive any ownership rights in your work. Questions of who owns intellectual property arising from KLD-affiliated research or coursework are governed by the College's separate intellectual property policy, not by these Terms. If you are unsure how ownership applies to your specific work, the IP Office can direct you to that policy before you submit.
6Review Process & Decisions
Submissions are screened by automated similarity analysis and reviewed by IP Office administrators, as described in our Guidelines. Decisions to approve, reject, or request revision of an application are at the discretion of the reviewing office. A rejected application may be corrected and resubmitted as a revision, linked to the original submission.
7Certificates
A certificate issued through KLD-IPATS confirms that an application was reviewed and approved through the College's internal process. It is an internal institutional record and does not, by itself, constitute government registration (for example, with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines) — where such registration is separately required, it remains the applicant's or institution's responsibility to pursue it.
8Prohibited Conduct
- Submitting plagiarized, falsified, or knowingly misattributed work
- Impersonating another applicant, adviser, or administrator
- Attempting to bypass or manipulate the similarity or AI detection process
- Using the system to harass, defame, or misrepresent any person
9Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to your account for violation of these Terms, without prejudice to any academic or disciplinary process that may separately apply under KLD's own policies.
10Disclaimers & Liability
KLD-IPATS is provided on an "as is" basis. While we take reasonable care to keep the system available and accurate, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and automated similarity scores are a screening aid, not a guarantee of originality or non-infringement. To the extent permitted by law, KLD is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the system.
11Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of KLD-IPATS after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
